Chantal Philipon is CEGEDE 2003 Merrick Festival Poster Artist
Chantal was born in Antibes in Southeastern France. She graduated from CMAC in Arts and Paintings and Initiated from the Hong Kong Arts Center in Chinese Calligraphy .
“The subject of water is vital to my work, expressing an impulsive, vibrating sensitive element which gives rhythm to my subjects.” Painting under the artist name of Cegede she creates works that seduce you with fantastic figures and evoke sources of water, as well as creating a atmosphere that makes Florida such a unique subject - as a precious and fragile place. She has exhibited in Miami at Fairchild Tropical Gardens, South Miami Art Show, and Alliance Francaise; around Cairo, including The World of Art Galerie; and around Hong Kong including City Hall and the American Club.
